BCR/ABL1 GENE REARRANGEMENT, QUANTITATIVE PCR WITH REFLEX TO SUBTYPE

Components
BCR-ABL1/ABL1, P190 BCR-ABL1, P210 BCR-ABL1 This reverse-transcription PCR-based assay detects the BCR-ABL1 transcript produced by the t(9;22) chromosomal translocation associated with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) and a subset of lymphoblastic leukemias.

Specimen Required
Draw blood in a lavender EDTA tube. Send 6.0 mL whole blood (4.0 mL minimum) refrigerated in original collection tube. Due to 72 hour stability samples must arrive at Warde Medical Laboratory the day of collection or the next day. Ship to Warde Sunday through Friday only.

Alternate Specimen
Bone marrow: EDTA, 3.0 mL, Sodium heparin, or ACD B

Rejection Criteria
Clotted blood or bone marrow, frozen blood or bone marrow, grossly hemolyzed samples
