CALCIUM, URINE

Specimen Required
Collect 24 hour urine. Specimen MUST be refrigerated during entire collection period. Mix the 24 hour collection well, adjust pH to 1.5-2.0 by adding 6M HCl in 1.0 mL increments, and send 3.0 mL urine (0.5 mL minimum) refrigerated in a screw-capped plastic vial. Record total volume and collection time interval on specimen label.
