COLLAGEN TYPE 1, C-TELOPEPTIDE (CTx)

Specimen Required
Draw blood in a SST. Allow blood to clot 10-15 minutes at room temperature, then centrifuge separate and send 1.0 mL serum (0.5 mL minimum) frozen in a screw-capped plastic vial.

Alternate Specimen
Plasma: Lithium Heparin, Sodium Heprain, or EDTA

Rejection Criteria
Grossly lipemic, moderately hemolyzed, grossly icteric
