CRYOGLOBULIN AND CRYOFIBRINOGEN EVALUATION

Test Documentation
Components
Test Includes:
1. Cryocrit
2. Identification of Type I, Type II, Type III
If a cryoprecipitate is present, a cryocrit (quantitation) will be performed at no additional charge

Specimen Required
Cryoglobulin-Draw blood in a plain red-top tube. Place sample in warm water until serum is spun and separated from cells. Send 2.5 mL serum (1.0 mL minimum) refrigerated in a screw-capped plastic vial. Cryofibrinogen-Draw blood in a light blue sodium citrate tube. Place sample in warm water until plasma is spun and separated from cells. Send 2.5 mL plasma (1.0 mL minimum) refrigerated in a screw-capped plastic vial.
