CYCLOSPORINE A

Test Documentation
Specimen Required
Draw blood in a lavender EDTA tube. Send 1.0 mL whole blood (0.2 mL minimum) refrigerated.
CAUTION: The complexity of the clinical state, individual differences in sensitivity to the immunosuppressive and nephrotoxic effects of cyclosporine, the co-administration of other immunosuppressants, the type of transplant, and a number of other factors will cause different requirements for optimal whole blood levels of cyclosporine. The reference ranges below are general guidelines and apply to trough specimens drawn just prior to a.m. dose.
