Components
Organic Acids, Urine is the preferred test when screening for inherited disorders of metabolism. This plasma test is not as sensitive and will only detect the organic acids listed on the report.

Specimen Required
Draw blood in a green sodium or lithium heparin tube. Centrifuge and separate plasma from cells within 1 hour of collection. Send 3.0 mL plasma (2.0 mL minimum) frozen in a screw-capped plastic vial. CRITICAL FROZEN.
