Specimen Required
Draw blood in a SST. Allow sample to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum or plasma from cells within 2 hours. Send 1.0 mL serum (0.25 mL minimum) refrigerated in a screw-capped plastic vial. Sample must be drawn prior to surgery or more than two days following surgery. Do not draw in recovery room.
