Specimen Required
Patient preparation: patient should refrain from taking vitamins or mineral supplements at least 3 days before specimen collection. Avoid worksite collection.
Draw blood in a dark blue no-additive trace metal tube. Centrifuge, separate serum within 1 hour, and send 2.0 mL serum (0.7 mL minimum) refrigerated in a screw-capped plastic vial.

Plasma: Dark blue EDTA
Dark blue sodium heparin

Rejection Criteria
Hemolysis; gel barrier tubes
