Urine sample from newborns may not be ideal for this test, as newborns do not appear to produce the specific metabolite detected by this assay. Meconium analysis is recommended for newborn testing.

Specimen Required
Collect random urine. Mix well and send 20.0 mL urine (6.0 mL minimum) refrigerated in a screw-capped plastic container.
