CRYGL – “Cryoglobulin Qualitative”

Updates to specimen requirements and rejection criteria.

Specimen Preparation: Draw 5.0 mL of blood into a prewarmed (37°C) red top tube. Allow blood to clot at 37°C. Centrifuge at 37°C or ambient temperature. Do not use a refrigerated centrifuge. Keep sample at 37°C until after separation of serum from red blood cells. Send 3.0 mL of serum in a screw capped plastic vial.

Minimum Volume: 2.0 mL

Rejection Criteria: Plasma; Serum separator tube (SST); Grossly hemolyzed or lipemic specimens
