Announcement
The update for which you searched was implemented before July 2026. The was/is format for test updates is not available for this search; however, the result of the search will show a description of the change. Was/Is comparisons of changes will appear only for updates effective July 2026 onwards.
Please see attached document at end of the update for replacement test suggestions from Mayo.
Mayo has notified us of their discontinuation of general paraneoplastic panels for serum and CSF samples, with Warde test names PNPAB: Paraneoplastic autoantibody evaluation, serum/(Mayo code PAVAL) and Warde PNCSF: Paraneoplastic evaluation, CSF (Mayo code PAC1). These assays will no longer be available effective date June 1, 2026. Suggested replacement assays are Mayo code ENS2 (offered through Warde as ENCS “(Encephalopathy, Autoimmune/Paraneoplastic Evaluation, Serum) or AIAES (offered through Warde as test code ANAPS 3800497, which was included on the May Test Update as a new test) and Mayo code ENC2 (offered through Warde as test code EAPSF 3800498, from the same May Test Update). Another related Mayo test available through Warde is Warde code EPCSF “Epilepsy, Autoimmune/Paraneoplastic Evaluation, spinal fluid”, corresponding to Mayo test EPC2. Please see the attached document from Mayo labs for additional information. Other related testing for encephalopathy, demyelinating disease, dysautonomia, peripheral neuropathy, and neuromuscular abnormality is available through Warde as miscellaneous testing (please specify which Mayo test code is desired). Mayo is moving to phenotype-based panel selection (rather than general panels for suspected paraneoplasia with neurologic presentation), and decision support tools are available at their website.
