Patient Preparation: Patient should not be receiving anticoagulant treatment (eg, warfarin, heparin).

Collect: Light blue 3.2 % sodium citrate

Specimen Preparation: For complete instructions, see Coagulation Test Collection Guide found under Resources/Interpretation Guides and Forms. Send 3.0 mL platelet-poor plasma in a screw capped plastic vial. CRITICAL FROZEN.

Rejection Criteria: Refrigerated, thawed, refrozen specimens, serum

Stability:

Room temperature: 4 hours
Refrigerated: Unacceptable
Frozen: 30 days
