Specimen Preparation
Collect tissue at least 2 cm long if using a 22-gauge needle (or least 1 cm long if using a 18-gauge needle) and send tissue refrigerated in a metal-free screw capped plastic vial. Include tissue type, suspected diagnosis and clinical history.
Alternate Specimen
Paraffin block is also acceptable if not more than 1 or 2 cuts have been made to it for slides.
