Specimen Preparation
For each timed specimen submitted each tube must be clearly marked with the time collected. Submit all specimens with one order. Draw morning baseline specimen in a red top tube. Physician then administers 250 mcg cosyntropin. Draw additional specimens in red top tubes at 15, 30, 60 minutes. Centrifuge each tube, remove serum from cells and send 1.0 mL serum refrigerated for each specimen. Each tube must be properly labeled with collection times.
