Specimen Information
This test is not intended for:
Quantitation of drugs
Regular drug monitoring
This test is useful for:
Intended or untended use of over-the-counter, prescribed drugs and illegal drugs in a large dose, such as an overdose situation.
Most drugs present and reported qualitatively in this panel except the following:
- When benzodiazepines are detected by the immunoassays, the drugs will be confirmed by LCMSMS with quantitative values reported.
- When tricyclic antidepressants, amitriptyline, nortriptyline, imipramine, desipramine, doxepine, and nordoxepine are detected by the photo array detector method, these compounds are retested by an HPLC method to report quantitative values.
- Pentobarbital and Phenobarbital are reported quantitatively by an HPLC method.
