Specimen Information

Patient Preparation

Patient should have no general anestetic or muscle-relaxant drugs in 24 hours prior to draw.
Collection is recommended before starting immunosuppressant therapy.
Due to potential interference, test should not be requested in patients who recently have been given radioisotopes diagnostically or therapeutically. The waiting period before specimen collection will depend on the isotope administered, the dose given and individual clearance rate. Specimens will be screened for radioactivity prior to analysis. Radioactive specimens received will be held for 1 week and assayed if sufficiently decayed, or canceled if radioactivity remains.

Test is intended for adult patients ages 18 and above
