Umbilical cord
Specimen Preparation
Collect at least 8 inches of Umbilical Cord. Ensure no ethanol-containing personal care products are used or nearby during collection. Drain and discard any blood. Rinse the exterior of the cord segment with normal saline or water. Pat the cord dry and send refrigerated in a urine collection cup.
