Methodology
This procedure uses real-time polymerase chain reaction amplification and detection to quantify the percentage of white blood cells containing the V617F (G>T at position 617) point mutation in the autoinhibitory pseudokinase domain of the JAK2 protein. The lower limit of quantitation is 0.1% (1 to 1000 cells).
