Fast overnight, no alcohol and vitamins 24 hours prior to sample collection. Infant: draw prior to next feeding.

Centrifuge, separate plasma from cells and send 1.0 mL plasma frozen (within 6 hours) in an amber screw capped plastic vial. PRTOECT FROM LIGHT. CRITICAL FROZEN.

Serum: Red top or Serum separator tube (SST)
Plasma: Green sodium heparin, green lithium heparin
