Mpox Testing Available as a Referred Test

Warde Medical Laboratory now offers mpox PCR testing as a referred test to Quest Diagnostics.
Quest Diagnostics’ PCR mpox virus test is a Multiplex PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Orthopox viruses (non-variola) and Mpox virus (West African clade) using swabs from human pustular or vesicular rash specimens.
The test can be ordered by calling Warde’s client services at 800-760-9969.

Note that the World Health Organization switched to using the term “mpox” as the preferred synonym for monkeypox.
